Senior Womenswear Designer
What I do at Disturbia
As Senior Dresses Designer, I define collections with a witchy, feminine aesthetic rooted in grunge and gothic influences. I partner closely with the Senior Buyer to balance creativity with commerciality, and with the tech team to refine fit and construction. As a team, we collaborate across the seasonal direction to build a strong, design led monthly range, working alongside the print team to make sure all visions align. My focus is creating dresses that feel distinct, directional, and true to the brand’s DNA and core heritage product. The role works closely with the Design Director to strengthen team development, sharing responsibility for nurturing growth while keeping the critical path on track.
Why Disturbia
Disturbia is a place for creatives who thrive on pushing boundaries — where dark romance meets rebellious design, and every collection tells a story. With a team of passionate makers and visionaries, the brand offers the chance to shape truly unconventional fashion while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. It’s more than a job; it’s an opportunity to grow, experiment, and be part of a movement that celebrates individuality and dares to disrupt the ordinary.
Who am I?
Worked across a range of global and high-street brands, designing and developing seasonal collections spanning denim, outerwear, woven softs, and tailoring. Responsibilities included setting the creative direction through concept boards, colour palettes, and range planning; translating catwalk and luxury trend research into innovative, brand-relevant designs; and overseeing the full design process from technical specs and fabric sourcing to sampling and production. Regularly travelled for research, brand development, and customer meetings, while managing the critical path and mentoring junior designers to deliver collections on time and in line with brand vision.
Advice for prospective candidates
My advice would be to really soak up the spirit of Disturbia — get to know our aesthetic, our customer, and the stories that drive our collections. Bring your creativity with confidence, but also stay curious and open, because some of the best ideas come from collaboration and listening to others. Don’t be afraid to take risks or push boundaries; that’s what keeps our work fresh and authentic. At the same time, stay organised and adaptable — the pace can be fast, but with structure and focus you’ll find the space to let your creativity shine. Most importantly, enjoy the process and stay passionate — when you love what you’re creating, it always shows in the work.
